Mixed Martial Arts – MMA - Cage Fighting

David Weild of Action Promotions has recently taken on the position of WKF UK (Northern) Director for Ringsports & MMA - Amateur & Professional. The World Kickboxing Federation (www.wkfkickboxing.net & www.wkfworld.com) will be the chosen sanctioning body for all MMA events under the Action Promotions umbrella.

David is still open to working with other organisations on the Ringsports side, but will also be heavily involved in building up a team of Promoters, Match-makers, Gyms, and most importantly, Fighters, to develop Kickboxing, Muay Thai, and Mixed Martial Arts as well as increasing the presence of the WKF within the UK.

For anyone wishing to enquire about show sanctioning with the WKF, or having fighters contest for WKF titles, please do not hesitate to get in touch today.

Please note: The World Kickboxing Federation operated many continental websites as well as the World website. Please do not be fooled by any other organisation based in the UK claiming to be the WKF. For a full list of legitimate WKF websites please see either www.wkfkickboxing.net or www.wkfworld.com.

Championships

The Pro-Fight League does not pretend to be something it is not. The PFL is at most, a regional promotion and only sanctions Rankings Fights or North East Regional Title Bouts.

Here at the PFL we make no bones about it, we are not going to be issuing false British, European or World Titles as some lesser bodies do – our only aim is to be a recognised, professional MMA promotion for the North East of England.

Regional Title

The North East Regional Championship Title is a ‘challenge’ title, which allows any other fighter to challenge for the belt, providing they meet the criteria. Champions must defend their titles within 13 weeks of becoming champion.

The criteria to challenge (must meet one of the following):

  • Must have a winning streak of 3-0 in last 3 fights
  • Be recognised in general as the best in the division
  • Hold a recognised championship belt with another organisation
  • Be challenged by the Champion if no other suitable challenger is available

Why the PFL?

At the Pro Fight League we aim to bring the best regional fighters together to challenge for the PFL Regional Title. The PFL is not by any means trying to poach any other organisations fighters, in fact we actively encourage fighters to fight for other organisations in order to develop their careers. However, by fighting for the PFL championship title, we can offer:-

  • Recognition via our network of associates
  • Media attention
  • Guaranteed minimum purses not subject to ticket sales
  • Good ticket sales commission ‘on top’ of fight purse
  • Title win purse of no less than £750
  • Fight bonuses for KO of the night, etc
  • Regular shows & Nationwide networking opportunities
